there is a moment at weddings where you really get to know your bride and groom…the speeches at this wedding were so heartfelt and the amount of love and acceptance between these two families completely warmed my soul. There is a bit of a tradition in the brides family that was passed on to Tommy at their reception. When any of the kids wanted to talk with their dad in confidence he would invite them out to the garage so he could smoke his pipe and not be bothered with interruptions from their mom (she didn’t like the smell of the smoke) so on every kids 18th birthday he would buy them their own special pipe so they could join in. Erika’s dad gifted Tommy his very own as a way to say welcome to the family and if there was anything he needed to talk to him about, just bring the pipe…..
