I try not to make resolutions or focus too much on what "needs to be fixed" this time of year...Instead I try to think of something that I would love to look back on; a summary of sorts. I'm no good with words, so journalling never works. I would always give myself a really hard time about not documenting my feelings through certain life events. To the point where I would get incredibly stressed out thinking I would not be leaving something tangible for my boys to read in the future. But it occurred to me about a month ago while in Nashville with some amazing colleagues, that I am documenting. In my own little way....I can tell anyone what I, ...

red deer photographer ➾ 2013 ➾ A Year In Review
If 2014 is full of amazing people like 2013 was, it's going to be a great year! I had the privilege of meeting some beautiful souls last year and look forward to greeting all my new clients with a fresh sense of inspiration and commitment to telling their stories...Here are a few favourites from my sessions this past year...
I strive to create photographs that spark a memory, an emotion, or simply love...thank you to all who trusted me and invited me into your lives :)
red deer photographer ➾ a week of inspiration
to say these women are inspiring would not be doing them any justice, I can't even articulate how much I cherish these relationships.
In august of last year I saw a post from a photographer that I had been following for a while that said she would be putting on a workshop in Asheville, NC. I immediately got butterflies and called up my husband to get the a-ok (he was in Europe at the time haha) We agreed that even though it was over our anniversary, it would be an incredible experience for me to learn and work with a mentor. That mentor was, Joy Prouty of Wildflowers Photography. I had big expectations for this workshop but I had no idea the ...

finally sent in a bunch of rolls of film last month and was blown away by the scans. Film is very near and dear to my heart and I am hoping to introduce more and more into my session. None of these are edited, they are straight from the lab :)

red deer engagement photographer ➾ victoria + michael
at our consultation victoria had mentioned she wished that it would snow for their engagement photos.....well she got what she asked for the day before their session!
and not only did it snow, it snowed a FOOT in 24 hours and Red Deer looked SO beautiful.
trekking through the trails in a foot of snow was another story but we managed to get some exercise and some beautiful photos and luckily it was quite warm :)
red deer family photographer ➾ all hallows eve ➾ where the wild things are
we started reading 'where the wild things are' to Jensen a few months back and I could not think of a better costume for him. Ever since I could remember Jensen has reminded of me of Max.....full of energy and mischief, with such an amazing imagination. Even when I asked him what his name was yesterday, each was answered with "I AM MAX, MOMMY!". Hudson, of course needed to be one of the wild things and after a little DIY with his costume, he was all set and cuter than ever!
"Let the wild rumpus START!"
