Banff Adventures | Rocky Mountain Family Photographer

Go outside

and let your breath

be stolen away.

Find the forests,

seek the seas,

meditate

on the mountains,

mist covered from morning.

We are nurtured

by nature, born

for the wild places;

we’ve no business

in cities, in buildings

taller than trees

can grow.

Go outside,

and begin living

again.

– Tyler Knott Gregson

surgenor family | rocky mountain family photographer | location #1
Living in the prairies but being from Montana, Jessica wanted a more mountainous surrounding for her family photos. With her husband and three beautiful children, we trekked up to Spray Lakes in Canmore and found the perfect location for exploring. We were greeted in the most Canadian way, by two giant moose...they were a bit camera shy, which was totally fine, they scare the crap out of me!

aliesha & ryan | emerald lake elopement
Aliesha and Ryan's intimate elopement at Cathedral Mountain Lodge was a DREAM - seriously, if you're looking for a gorgeous place to elope in the mountains, they offer an amazing package! And I would love to photograph it, of course ;) - Cozy cabins, close family, and the most perfect parting of rain clouds for their ceremony (it seriously rained the entire morning and stopped just for the ceremony and formals - talk about lucky!) I immediately clicked with these two when we first met in November 2015. Aliesha is a budding photographer (who recently took my Embracing the Chaos Class and is KILLING it) that is also introverted like me, so w ...

Sometimes clients come along that you absolutely click with. I normally try to meet all my families prior to their session so we can get to know each other a bit better but Erin booked her session super last minute so there was no time. During our short walk to location we had a mini consultation and I fell in love with this family :) They have a rambunctious little 1 1/2 year old that reminds me so much of my oldest, Jensen. They're both runners! It's a challenge that I am accustomed to and accept it with open arms. enjoy.....
