Dinosaur Adventures | Drumheller Family Photographer

Drumheller will always hold a special little place in my heart. My mom lived here in the 60’s and when she was little she would dig for Dinosaur fossils down by the creek in her back yard. When they eventually moved to BC, her Dad said she could only take a small box with her so she left behind huge boxes of fossils. She brought them out for the kids to look at last summer and they were blown away at the fact that Grammy had actual fossil (keep in mind this was waaaaaay before you were obligated to give them to the museum). I loved taking my boys there this past September and can’t wait to head back again this Spring.

here’s to 2014 | red deer family photographer
As 2014 dwindles to an end, i've spent the last few weeks cataloging and backing up all my sessions from this year...I couldn't help but feel so incredibly grateful for each and every one that has invited me in and trusted me to tell their families story. I've been shown such love being around these families and am forever thankful for these experiences. Photographers say so often how much they love their job and that their clients are the greatest...i'm no different but I consider these people friends and family... 1000 thank you's, "here's to the good you've found, and the great that awaits"

Sometimes when you have close photographer friends that feel the weight of having growing children slipping through their fingers as much as you do, you just take a trip out to the mountains, brave the cold (well compared to the temperatures the past few weeks, this was summer lol), and hold your kids as close as you can. Amanda and I traded session back in October and it was so great to finally get a chance to photograph her and her two sweet little ladies. When I take these types of images, I take them with the children in mind. These images are not just for us as parents but for our children, our children's children and so on. Think for ...

the baker family | red deer family photographer
I had the honour of photographing a truly inspirational family the other evening. Jordana, Adam and Rachel have been through some tough times the past year. After losing their three year old daughter Sarah to cancer in the fall, they've spent the past 7 months grieving and celebrating the time they had with their sweet little girl. I am humbled to have been asked to document their family and I only hope this is a small step forward for them. This session is about surrounding each other in love and taking solace in the present. A word from Sarah's mom Jordana: "In that final week I began to see what it meant to live life in the moment. I ...
