the bertin wedding | pt.1

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that this might be one of my favourite weddings ever…Tommy and Erika are the most laid back, go with the flow, no stress, up for anything couple I have ever dealt with. The entire day was so relaxed and everything went off without a hitch. Everything from the Lego inspired invitations (that Tommy painted himself!), to the favours, to the location, it was all the most perfect setting.

I have really enjoyed getting to know these two beautiful people and look forward to watching them grow together in marriage.

the hobbs farm | edmonton family photographer
I had the incredible privilege to hang out and photograph the Hobbs crew on their farm just outside of Edmonton, Alberta. Jenna and I have been friends on social media for what seems like forever (I can't even remember for how long haha) and it was so great to final be able to meet and spend some time with her and her beautiful family. We hoped for fog but the weathe ...

Dinosaur Adventures | Drumheller Family Photographer
Drumheller will always hold a special little place in my heart. My mom lived here in the 60's and when she was little she would dig for Dinosaur fossils down by the creek in her back yard. When they eventually moved to BC, her Dad said she could only take a small box with her so she left behind huge boxes of fossils. She brought them out for the kids to look at last summer and they were blown away at the fact that Grammy had actual fossil (keep in mind this was waaaaaay before you were obligated to give them to the museum). I loved taking my boys there this past September and can't wait to head back again this Spring.   ...

A Farewell Story | Red Deer Family Photographer
I first told the story of my dear friends Kat & Aaron's big move to Salt Spring Island back in May and now I have had the honour of telling Kat's parents story. Their farm has been in the family since 1905 (home to 5 generations) and they have recently made the tough decision to sell their property - closing date was today! - to make the same move that Kat did. It was a bitter sweet day filled with stories, jokes, chocolate, tears and horses. Kat's brother and sister made the trip up from Vancouver just to say one final goodbye to the place they grew up. Abby said goodbye to her favourite pony although her new owners have agreed to wee ...
