shop the skinny | alberta brand photographer

The boys and I set out to the mountains at the beginning of November to enjoy one of the last – and very unusual – warm days of the year (it was 14C degrees that day!) for one of our favourite shops in Edmonton, Shop The Skinny! We stayed at one of our favourite places in Dead Man’s Flats and it has the cutest little abandoned cabin & windmill ever. I’ve been wanting to photograph the boys here forever and now was the perfect opportunity!

After lunch we zipped up the mountain to spray lakes and pulled over at the absolutely most gorgeous location. It was so perfect….the crisp smell of the trees and fresh snow…..I could believe how quiet it was, not a sound but the wind through the trees. Then out of nowhere appeared a little whisky jack….and then three more….then another four! I had no idea they were so friendly and then came right over and jensen was able to feed a few of them. He was thrilled!

Liz contacted me about 11 days ago about a family session but at that time, I had no idea the importance. Liz went and lived there for 7.5 months until the president of the country signed off on her release and they were finally allowed to make the long journey home to Canada. Thank you Liz, for in ...

the hobbs farm | edmonton family photographer
I had the incredible privilege to hang out and photograph the Hobbs crew on their farm just outside of Edmonton, Alberta. Jenna and I have been friends on social media for what seems like forever (I can't even remember for how long haha) and it was so great to final be able to meet and spend some time with her and her beautiful family. I was welcomed Sunday night with wine - yessss - and great conversation and after a good nights sleep we woke up super early (well not really for us, we all have children lol), got the kids fed & dressed and the adults caffeinated, we set out for a tour around their 29 acres. We hoped for fog but the weathe ...
