red balloons for ryan

About a week ago I heard – as many others did – about sweet little 3 1/2 year old Ryan from California. Tragically Ryan was struck by a truck while playing at his cousins house and was killed. His mom Jacqui, is a mommy blogger and the community has wrapped their arms around her and her husband Dan, rallying to raise money and send some healing comfort to them in this incomprehensibly difficult time. Jacqui’s best friend Alissa asked that this mother’s day, everyone send a red balloon to Ryan….and so we did, from the tippy top of the Rockies. Below is a photo from Jacqui’s Instagram of her and her husband, Dan sending some balloons to their little man…. my heart just aches for them.

bell family | rocky mountain family photographer | location #3
A family with two rambunctious little boys is the perfect family for me ;) I have a bit experience when it comes to crazy little men haha. I've been following Amy on Instagram (@bell_amy) for a while and am super inspired by her use of light. We had planned on just shooting at the river but I surprised Amy and her boys with a little canoe ride (just in the bay and yes they had life jackets in the boat) at Emerald Lake - one of my absolute favourite places to visit and is a must see for anyone who hasn't experienced it. Loved photographing your family Amy, and hope we can meet again in the future :)
