We really just want to capture candid moments of our family at this point in time. Nothing complicated or high maintenance. :)” – Beth

Well Beth, you won my heart with that statement and I knew right then that we were going to have such and fun and relaxed session.

I did have a little “first” that happened for me with this family…

I am usually pretty bubbly and happy when I am first interact with the children I will be photographing, so when I first met little Isla, I was asking if she wanted to see my camera and being super happy and maaaaybe a bit too close because she started BAWLING! lol I don’t think she shared my same enthusiasm. It gutted me because kids usually LOVE me but I decided to turn into a mission to make that kid like me….and by the end she was asking her mom and dad if I could come for dinner….success!

With all that aside, this family was so super easy to photograph, I mean come one….just take one look at them ;)

Thank you again Beth for letting me have a small glimpse into your world for the evening

Last year my mom sent me home with a few keepsakes - her wedding dress and a giant scrap book of my first paintings, drawings, letters etc. It is something that I am so thankful to her for keeping all those years. I wanted to do something similar for Jensen because, like so many other kids in pre-school/kindergarden etc., he has SO many crafts that he has made here and at day home. I was struggling to find something that would hold everything, and still be nice-ish to look at. I have a giant binder with page protectors (pictured below completely over flowing!) that I had been putting his art in and then it dawned on me....I can still keep all ...

After reading over Jacquelyn's questionnaire and saw that she had 3 young boys, I fully prepared myself to be chasing after them the entire session...although there was some chasing of their youngest one, it was nothing like I had expected...they listened very well and for being photographers children, I have to say that they were very much up for having MORE photos taken of themselves <3 Thank you so much for inviting me into your family that lovely August evening, Jacquelyn...your boys are gorgeous and so very sweet!

This is my beautiful friend Lyndsey, her husband Chad and their little boy Sawyer. I've asked Lyndsey for her permission to share her story and I will be documenting her journey as the days go by. About three weeks ago Lyndsey was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. What was presumed to be a plugged milk duct (she is still breast feeding) turned out to be a tumour. A shock to all of us. We decided to do a little family session as kind of a nod to life at this moment, something to look back on years from now and be thankful for each and every experience we are faced with....the good and the bad. This family has been through a lot in the past f ...
