Last year, my Mother’s day was kind of a wash….Hudson was still recovering from his first heart surgery and Jensen was at my mom and dads in BC. Now, i’m not saying it was bad but since I didn’t have both my boys with me it didn’t really feel like a complete mothers day. It was however, the first time I was able to hold Hudson in 8 days. He had a breathing tube in his nose and I was too scared to hold him with it in, in fears I would move it and cause him to be uncomfortable – if you could have only seen how much this kid hated that thing then you might have an understanding why haha.
But this year, my heart was full. We drove to Banff on Saturday and since there was a snow storm – yes, snow storm- we just hung out at the hotel for the evening. Took some time to hit the pool but when we got there we realized it was more of a giant hot tub and Hudson was not having it, so instead we decided to take advantage of the GIANT jacuzzi in our room (hence the reason hudson is wearing swim shorts haha)
The next day we stopped and bought a couple of red balloons and made a trip up the gondola. (I made a separate post for that post, please click this link to view) It was the most beautiful day, albeit a bit cold but we were on the top of a mountain so it was expected. The sun was warm and thats all that matters.
I will be blogging about the special little camera you will see Jensen using in a few of the next photos but i’m leaving that for another day 😉 On our way home, we made al title pit stop at Lake Minnewanka and was greater by some Canadian Geese…that were actually somewhat nice lol
We arrived back in Red Deer around 4:30 just in time for a picnic in the park with great friends, followed by a horse drawn carriage ride through the tulip lined woods at Heritage Ranch. All in all, yesterday was full of love, adventure and family – the perfect mothers day.
Happy Mother’s Day -everyday- to all the moms out there!
