2015 rocky Mountain session | rocky mountain family photographer
A cool summer breeze, the freshest air in the whole world, playing in the mountain creeks, climbing trees, being together with your family and nature.... I am now accepting bookings for my summer 2015 Rocky Mountain Sessions! These sessions hold such a special place in my heart and I have never been so inspired as I am when i'm in the mountains...I can't wait to shoot there again this summer and because of that I am holding a special promotion until Feb 14th! (*wink wink* to all that want to give their significant others something special for Valentines this year ;)) I have a ton of new locations and looking forward to telling the stori ...

new year, new adventures
Ok, so I had mentioned on my instagram a few weeks back that I was about to embark on a video adventure...I had no idea how much it would really impact the direction I want my photography to go. I originally said that I was going to do a 30 day project but I got way too much footage over the christmas holidays that it would have ended up being 30 minutes long haha. I managed to dwindle what I had down to just over 6 minutes (way over my 2.5 minute goal, ha!) and for this being my first video, i'm pretty proud of myself for following through and having this to look back on in the future. Below is also a few photos from our BC adventure! Wit ...

paquette family | red deer family photographer
This past Sunday, I was invite into the home and hearts of the Paquette family - a family that could have easily been my own. Extended family sessions are not typically something that I take on but I felt this pull and need to say yes. Every family is faced with tough news at some point, and for the Paquette family, that time is now. With the patriarch, Ray, having surgery in the very near future, they are holding these moments a little closer to their hearts. I arrived to a house of crazy cousins, (much like how my cousins and I were when we gathered during the holidays) butter tarts, inside jokes and even a few break dancers. It had only ...

here’s to 2014 | red deer family photographer
As 2014 dwindles to an end, i've spent the last few weeks cataloging and backing up all my sessions from this year...I couldn't help but feel so incredibly grateful for each and every one that has invited me in and trusted me to tell their families story. I've been shown such love being around these families and am forever thankful for these experiences. Photographers say so often how much they love their job and that their clients are the greatest...i'm no different but I consider these people friends and family... 1000 thank you's, "here's to the good you've found, and the great that awaits"

wildflowers reunion | harvesting hope in washington
I'm not really sure how to start this....I'm at such a loss for words about how much these woman mean to me...how much I need them...how much a miss them daily...and how much I can't wait to see them next year. Joy has changed my life in more ways than one. Not only has she introduced me to some of my now best friends, photographed our own family, and opened a door to seeing life in a whole new way, but she has become a true friend. Her honest and heartfelt outlook on  women, whether it be as business owners, aspiring photographers, or as mothers, wives, girlfriends, etc is just so empowering....please  take a moment or two to read through t ...

you be the sweet and i’ll be the savoury | this is us
I find, more often than not, thoughts are hard for me to get out....i'm not sure how I can accurately describe the feelings I had when looking through these photos but I do know that my heart aches (in a very good way) for the amount of love I see through Joy's eyes. After our renewal vows were spoken, we spent the next day with Joy doing some family photos...we gathered egg & apples, picked the most beautiful dahlias from a farm that runs on the honour system, frolicked in the most magical trees (it was seriously straight out of a fairytale), and found a secret forrest in the shape of an abandoned lot (thank you for finding that place ...

wonderflow red deer | red deer photographer
I was lucky enough to register Jensen for pre school at the amazing Waldorf inspired Wonderflow School House here in Red Deer. This school is everything I want for my kids, a creative based education & a nurturing, positive environment. This year the school house (which is located in a Heritage Home in downtown Red Deer) needs to raise funds to have a sprinkler system put in place inside the home for fire prevention so we've been doing tons of fundraising to help fund the $15,000 investment. I offered to take photos of the all kids at the school and I couldn't have imagined how happy all these little people would make me :) Each child had ...

the watt family | red deer lifestyle photographer
Some of you may recognize this beautiful family from a few posts I did this spring. Lyndsey is a good friend of mine and back in the spring she was diagnosed with breast cancer, at the young age of 29. (You may take a look back at the beginning of her journey here & here) nearly 6 months has passed, full of chemo, sickness, good days and bad days, struggles and  triumphs. But I am happy to say that her chemo was discontinued early due to the great response the cancer was having to it. We decided to celebrate by having a little lifestyle session in their home at the beginning of October. They snuggled in bed, read their favourite books, ...
