Jayme – 6 months | red deer family photographer
Sweet Jayme is 6 months and since Aislinn was still pretty unsure of her new sister when we did Jayme's newborn photos, we decided to focus mostly on their connection for this one. These two were in such good moods on Sunday and I am so happy I got to see such genuine interactions between them.
Towards the end of the session, little Jayme slipped down and bumped her head on the arm of the couch and was notably upset. The last shot is probably one of my favourites shots ever. A loving tender moment between mother and daughter, that little tear just kills me....

The Paper Deer Mentoring | Red Deer Family Photographer
When I first started my photography journey, I had questions. A ridiculous amount of questions....and struggled to find the answers. I was lacking in confidence, in a new city and to be honest, too intimidated by other photographers to reach out. I was fearful of them assuming I was just another “photographer” trying get in the industry. I took a handful courses online, tried to read ALL the books but something was still missing. Being a hands on learner and incredible inpatient, reading something and then trying to apply it just doesn’t work. I needed someone to physically show and explain to me what to do and why in order for it to really s ...
Adventures with Mama Ford | Red Deer Family Photographer
My husband went to China for 10 days so to ease my separation anxiety, I packed up and took the boys to Banff for a little get-a-way. We adventured in town, took the gondola, ehem...I mean "rollercoster" to the top of Sulphur mountain, family napped away the afternoon, drove up to lake minnewanka, ate out....(and yes, I actually survived 2 days worth of restaurants with these 2 crazy boys...barely lol), and on our way back to red deer I made a pit stop at the zoo to surprise Jensen with the Penguin Walk! He has a serious love for anything antarctic right now and penguins are at the top of his list.
I'm so grateful for these two and that th ...

new year, new adventures
Ok, so I had mentioned on my instagram a few weeks back that I was about to embark on a video adventure...I had no idea how much it would really impact the direction I want my photography to go. I originally said that I was going to do a 30 day project but I got way too much footage over the christmas holidays that it would have ended up being 30 minutes long haha. I managed to dwindle what I had down to just over 6 minutes (way over my 2.5 minute goal, ha!) and for this being my first video, i'm pretty proud of myself for following through and having this to look back on in the future. Below is also a few photos from our BC adventure!
paquette family | red deer family photographer
This past Sunday, I was invite into the home and hearts of the Paquette family - a family that could have easily been my own. Extended family sessions are not typically something that I take on but I felt this pull and need to say yes. Every family is faced with tough news at some point, and for the Paquette family, that time is now. With the patriarch, Ray, having surgery in the very near future, they are holding these moments a little closer to their hearts.
I arrived to a house of crazy cousins, (much like how my cousins and I were when we gathered during the holidays) butter tarts, inside jokes and even a few break dancers. It had only ...
