The Family Narrative | International Family Photographer
Back in the spring of last year, I was contacted by my sweet friend Posy Quarterman about speaking at this new workshop put on by four pretty fantastic boss ladies that focused SOLEY on the genre of family photography. After suffering with the stigma that family photography was not viewed as important as other genres (i.e.. weddings) and being told by their peers that photographers that only shoot family's would never be able to make the money that wedding photographers make, they decided to push back and create something that nobody has. They want to empower us, to let people know that yes, we ARE worth it and family photography IS worth eve ...
Mini Mountain Escape
Just a quick weekend trip to the mountains with my littles. This is definitely one of my most favourite spots in Banff and the day we went was perfect. usually when we take the boys to the mountains, we adventure during the day and end up having to shoot in direct high noon sun but that day was the perfect mixture of clouds and not too cold.

shop the skinny | alberta brand photographer
The boys and I set out to the mountains at the beginning of November to enjoy one of the last - and very unusual - warm days of the year (it was 14C degrees that day!) for one of our favourite shops in Edmonton, Shop The Skinny! We stayed at one of our favourite places in Dead Man's Flats and it has the cutest little abandoned cabin & windmill ever. I've been wanting to photograph the boys here forever and now was the perfect opportunity!
After lunch we zipped up the mountain to spray lakes and pulled over at the absolutely most gorgeous location. It was so perfect....the crisp smell of the trees and fresh snow.....I could believe how ...
moraine lake elopement | rocky mountain elopement photographer
I think I have found a new love. Elopements are such a beautiful intimate setting for two people to share their vows and express their love for one another. Why not save a ton of money and plan an adventure in the mountains (or wherever!) with just the two of you or only the closest of family members?! Well, and me of course ;)
Dust & Kitty traveled all the way from Hong Kong for photos at Moraine Lake! While they technically got married a few months prior, they did not have a photographer at their wedding. Dust is a fellow tattooer and a good friend of my husbands, so when he emailed me and asked if I would photograph their "elopement ...
aliesha & ryan | emerald lake elopement
Aliesha and Ryan's intimate elopement at Cathedral Mountain Lodge was a DREAM - seriously, if you're looking for a gorgeous place to elope in the mountains, they offer an amazing package! And I would love to photograph it, of course ;) - Cozy cabins, close family, and the most perfect parting of rain clouds for their ceremony (it seriously rained the entire morning and stopped just for the ceremony and formals - talk about lucky!)
I immediately clicked with these two when we first met in November 2015. Aliesha is a budding photographer (who recently took my Embracing the Chaos Class and is KILLING it) that is also introverted like me, so w ...
2016 | A year of acceptance
Each year I am blown away by my clients, their willingness to allow me to create memories that will be forever kept and passed down to the wee ones they are squeezing and tickling in each of those images. Sometimes this passion is so strong that it hurts to think about and makes my heart heavy.
truth bomb in 3...2...1...
This year was an incredibly difficult season for me mentally. Having anxiety and being introverted is tough in this craft and I have definitely struggled this year with balancing the constant overwhelming feeling of doubt and my fear of emails and replying to people via social media - please tell me i'm not the only one ...
2016 | Personal
This year has been a year of growth for our children. Jensen started grade one and like many moms before me have said....they really do change so rapidly at this age. He has the biggest heart and I see so much love and compassion in him - for example, he came running into the kitchen at my mom and dads a few days ago, in a panic and said "come quick, the guy on tv said we have the chance to save hundreds of animals and to call this number to help!" My sweet boy had just watched an spca commercial and was so focused on getting us to help these poor animals.....i've realized now, more than ever that he is the window to my childhood. We are wire ...
