aliesha & ryan | emerald lake elopement

Aliesha and Ryan’s intimate elopement at Cathedral Mountain Lodge was a DREAM – seriously, if you’re looking for a gorgeous place to elope in the mountains, they offer an amazing package! And I would love to photograph it, of course ;) – Cozy cabins, close family, and the most perfect parting of rain clouds for their ceremony (it seriously rained the entire morning and stopped just for the ceremony and formals – talk about lucky!)

I immediately clicked with these two when we first met in November 2015. Aliesha is a budding photographer (who recently took my Embracing the Chaos Class and is KILLING it) that is also introverted like me, so we were meant to work together haha. We bonded over our love for dogs and photography. She is a gem and Ryan is just the sweetest guy. They are definitely made to be together.

I originally said that I was going to do a 30 day project but I got way too much footage over the christmas holidays that it would have ended up being 30 minutes long haha. I managed to dwindle what I had down to just over 6 minutes (way over my 2.5 minute goal, ha!) and for this being my first video, i'm pretty proud of myself for following through and having this to look back on in the future. Below is also a few photos from our BC adventure! Wit ...

the watt family | red deer lifestyle photographer

Lyndsey is a good friend of mine and back in the spring she was diagnosed with breast cancer, at the young age of 29. (You may take a look back at the beginning of her journey here & here) nearly 6 months has passed, full of chemo, sickness, good days and bad days, struggles and  triumphs. But I am happy to say that her chemo was discontinued early due to the great response the cancer was having to it. We decided to celebrate by having a little lifestyle session in their home at the beginning of October. They snuggled in bed, read their favourite books, ...
